Account Security Guide
Protecting Your Pokémon GO Account
We understand that every account holds precious memories. Here is our comprehensive account security guide to help you better protect your account.
1. Common Causes of Account Theft
Hidden Linked Accounts
Many accounts that have been resold or traded across platforms only had their PTC (Pokémon Trainer Club) password changed, without unlinking the original seller's Google or Facebook accounts. This allows the original seller to still access and operate the account through other methods.
Historical Transaction Leaks
Some users have top-up records at multiple stores. If account information was left on certain platforms without timely password changes, some competitors may attempt to use old records to illegally access accounts through trial and error.
2. Our Account Protection Measures
- After each order is completed, we will send the official password change link and tutorial directly
- Customers can also send us their new password, and we will change it on their behalf
- We remind users to check if any unfamiliar Google or Facebook accounts have been linked after sharing account access
- If the account was purchased, please check and unbind any login methods not owned by you immediately
- We strongly recommend binding all three login methods (PTC, Google, Facebook) to prevent login issues
- For users in mainland China, we recommend avoiding frequent IP changes when using VPNs to prevent triggering Google's security measures
3. A Game Account Holds More Than Just Data
Pokémon GO is different from other mobile games. Many players' accounts contain precious memories shared with family, friends, and loved ones. Those Pokémon that seem insignificant to hackers might be symbols of a player's childhood travels with parents, or mementos of evening walks with a beloved partner.
Let's work together to protect our shared Pokémon GO community.
